Jesus is the reason for the season words

Todays Verse:  When they heard the king, they departed; and behold, the star which they had seen in the East went before them, till it came and stood over where the young Child was.  When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy. Matthew 2: 9-10

Todays Goal: Todays goal is to make a Christmas ornament and give it to a stranger, or someone you barely know. If you are totally uncrafty (if there is even such a thing!) then you could either give one you already have, buy one, or get someone to make one for you, but the point is to give it to someone you hardly or don’t know, and wish them a Merry Christmas. You could attach a Bible verse if you wish, or a sentiment wishing them God’s best. See, you never always know what a stranger may be going through in their life at this time of year, and you just may lift their spirits or encourage them just by being thoughtful in that little gift.

Todays Cookie Recipe:

Ginger Snaps

Combine 1 cup packed brown sugar, 3/4 cup canola oil, 1/4 cup dark molasses, and 1 egg; beat well. Stir together

2 cups flour, 2 tsp baking soda, 1 tsp ground cinnamon, 1 tsp ground ginger, 1/2 tsp ground cloves, and 1/4 tsp salt.

Gradually blend into molasses mixture. Using about 1 TBSP for each, form into 1 1/4 ” balls. Roll in granualted sugar; place

2″ apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375*F for 10-12 minutes Makes 4 dozen.

Something Special to Do:

If you give away homemade cookies or candy and need a gift bag, well, you could make one…or two…or more!!! There are a couple of ways to do this: 1. you could use a brown paper lunch bag, cut out some cute things from old cards and glue them on, fold over the bag and add a sentiment to the top with a stapler, there are a few ideas on Homes.com, 2. you could use plain colored gift bags and decorate them like Ally did at Rock Paper, Cricuit 3. or if you’re crafty and either have a cricuit or your like me and cut everything by hand, you could check out this video by Christina at Creations with Christina, and if you cut by hand then just use the ideas and your imagination as she shows you how to make this wonderfully cute bag!

If you have any great ideas on gift bag making, I would love to hear about them, please share!!! Thanks, and have a wonderful day.
